Here in the Southwest, the beauty of the desert is powerful, dramatic and sometimes scary! It’s not a gentle place. Sharp thorns, stingers, fangs and other spikey adaptations abound. Fractures and Fissures are a common sight in the southwestern landscape shaped by time, wind, and water, but they can also be a metaphorical representation of other things happening in our society, environment, and individual lives. They are caused by movement, tension, and gravity, and can leave beautiful wonders or ugly scars. Please click here to view the gallery.
Witness “The Wisdom of Trees” and their majestic life song as wind blows through swaying branches and swirling leaves. Their strong root systems, gravity defying trunks and branches connect the earth and sky, and provide necessities of life: oxygen, food, and shelter. Trees weather storms and turmoil, carrying a rich history of the ages in their rings; listen closely, they have many tales to tell. Each Piece measures 30”w by 40”h. The four corners states are known for their beautiful blue skies. In addition serving as a source of inspiration and beauty, the skies are a great asset to be protected.
