Bev Haring - Ghost Sentinels.png

Ghost Sentinels

by Bev Haring

Cottonwood trees are native to our region. The roots were used by the Hopi to create Kachina dolls to represent Katsinam, the immortal beings that bring rain and act as messengers between humans and the spirit world. In this piece the physical world of the center tree is flanked by the ghost (translucent) trees keeping watch.
