“Transparent” is the quality of a material or article allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen. For this quilt, I considered the “state of being transparent” as it applies to developed film either as a negative image or as a positive image projected as a photographic slide. For me, the transparency of developed film has always been magic. Each frame of the transparent film represents a little slice of time that allows us to see how the photographer sees her world.
