Improvisation is the activity of making or doing something not planned beforehand, using whatever can be found. I found dozens of circles in various diameters in my box of fabric scraps. I dropped them onto a piece of fabric in a random design (with a few “artistic adjustments” to the placement of the circles) and added the black and white checked fabric. The machine quilting and final shape of the quilt happened “in the moment”. I just did what I felt. The energy of the design reminds me of bubbles of carbonation in a cool glass on a hot day.
